Incorporation of AOTCA

AOTCA began a new chapter as a General Incorporated Association under Japanese law on January 5, 2026.

Although AOTCA was established in November 1992 as an international body of professional tax organizations from multiple countries and regions, it has operated as a voluntary association without legal status.

With this incorporation, AOTCA now possesses a solid legal foundation.

As the sole international organization for tax professionals in the Asia-Oceania region, AOTCA is expected to expand its activities and improve its capacity to communicate and share professional information.

Dr. Ruston Tambunan, who continues to serve as President following the transition from the former AOTCA, stated on the establishment of the incorporated association, “The incorporation of AOTCA marks an important step in strengthening our institutional foundation. It will enhance AOTCA’s credibility, governance, and capacity to serve as a strong, unified voice for tax professionals across the Asia-Oceania region.”
