AOTCA President Leads Efforts to Deepen Regional Collaboration in Tokyo Visit

04 May 2026

Tokyo, 4 April 2026

Dr. Ruston Tambunan, President of AOTCA, visited the Secretariat at JFCPTAA in Ohsaki, Tokyo, underscoring AOTCA’s commitment to closer regional ties.

Building on this collaborative purpose, Dr. Ruston met with JFCPTAA President Naoki Ota and senior officers, several of whom also serve as AOTCA officials. Their productive, forward-looking meeting examined the Secretariat’s operations and outlined AOTCA’s future policy direction.

This operational review gained significance in the context of AOTCA’s formal incorporation earlier this year, with Tokyo as its legal seat. Discussions extended beyond administrative matters to address ways to strengthen AOTCA’s institutional role in a complex global tax landscape.

Further reflecting this collaboration, the visit attracted attention from Japan’s professional community. JFCPTAA’s official monthly publication, Zeirishikai (April 2026 issue), featured the visit on its front page, underscoring the importance of the institutional relationship.

JFCPTAA stated that the visit was a meaningful step, highlighting its role in advancing regional cooperation and reinforcing AOTCA’s effectiveness. The meeting underscored AOTCA’s commitment to regional collaboration as its main strategic focus.
