Successful holding of the 40th Anniversary Dinner of The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Institute, a member of AOTCA, organized a grand dinner celebrating its 40th Anniversary at the City Hall Maxim’s Palace on Hong Kong Island on 16th November 2012.

 

Among the 540 guests and members attending the dinner, over 100 VIPs, heads and senior officers of tax authorities, and current and past presidents of tax institutes had travelled a long way from Mainland China and overseas to join the function and share this memorable moment.

 

Those representing AOTCA and its member organizations included Mr Thomas Lee, president of AOTCA, Mr. Gil Levy, immediate past president of AOTCA, Mr. Xu Shan Da, president of China Certified Tax Agent Association and Mr.& Mrs. Sukiatto Oyong.  Mr. Oyong is president of Indonesian Tax Consultants Association.  Mr Anthony Thomas, immediate past president of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of UK also travelled from England to join the function.

 

The program of the night included traditional Chinese lion dance and magic show. The highlight of the event was marked by the presentation of the Long Service Award to Mr. Kenneth Chau, the Institute’s founding member and a past President, who has been elected on the Council of the Institute since day one.  Awards were also presented during the function to the several Certified Tax Adviser graduates who took the recent CTA examinations and achieved highest scores in the individual papers.

 

The Institute also published a 40th Anniversary Celebration Booklet and congratulatory page on a major Hong Kong newspaper to mark the occasion.  The booklet highlighted the milestone events of The Institute in the past 40 years.  Limited copies are available upon request from the Secretariat.
